Is mowing height important?
-
Yes! If your lawn isn't as green as you would like, it may be because it's being mowed too short. The more you cut down the green grass blades, the less green you see! Mowing short is stressful to your lawn and makes it more susceptible to weed and insect invasion and drought stress. During the growing season, mow lawns at 3 to 3 1/2" to maintain a beautiful, green, lush, and healthy lawn.

Is aerating my lawn a good idea?
-
Yes, Annual aeration benefits your lawn in many ways. By pulling cores, we create thousands of openings in the lawn. This process relieves soil compaction and allows water, oxygen, and fertilizer products to access the root zone more efficiently. Also, when the roots of bluegrass plants are severed by aeration, they respond by sending up new shoots, adding density to the turf. The end result of lawn aeration is a healthier, more beautiful lawn!

When should I water my lawn?
-
The best time of the day to water lawns is the morning (4 to 9 am). When we water in the evening or at night, we create a micro climate of high humidity or complete of high humidity or complete wetness on the grass blades themselves for 8,10 or even 12 hours or more at a time. This may encourage fungal growth in your lawn, which is difficult and expensive to remedy. Watering in the morning gets the water down to the roots but allows the grass blades to dry off, reducing the likelihood of problematic fungal growth in your lawn.
